Even if you are not a student there are still many ways to enjoy the beautiful and thriving campuses around Prescott. The main three colleges are listed below with fun activities to do in each. These include exploring the green areas on campus, experiencing stunning art galleries, and visiting the facilities that these Prescott schools have to offer.
-Nature Trail: Looking for a beautiful place to walk your dog, go for a run, or just take in the fresh desert air? Yavapai College has a nature trail that is 1.5 miles long and built to preserve the natural environment while encouraging exercise. It is a non-motorized trail so feel free to run bike, or walk with friends!
-Yavapai Art Gallery: This instructional art gallery is a place to experience the most up and coming artists. If you are looking for a unique art experience you should stop in!
-Sculpture Garden: This garden is 4 acres of sculptures by nationally acclaimed artists. Located next to the Performing Arts Center, this is a wonderful place to relax and take in the beauty of not only the sculptures, but the gardens among them. The Prescott Area Iris Society planted iris gardens throughout. The best time of year to visit would be around May because of the blooming flowers.
-Looking for a serene place to take a moment and slow down? The Prescott College Yoga Circle is an eye catching display of bricks. This area is known for its greenery and picnic benches where you can stop and eat or hangout.
-Butte Creek is an area of campus that is part of the Greenway Project. This restoration project is perfect for strolling through and listening to the rippling of the creek. It’s a great place to get out of the heat and take a stroll.
-To get to campus you can use the Historic Sante Fe Railroad Bridge. This is an old, but sturdy trestle bridge that has great access to and from the downtown area. It is located next to the Historic Prescott College Art Gallery. This means that on your way you can also stop into this authentic New York gallery and enjoy the artwork as well.
-Embry Riddle College has a small quad that can be used for relaxing but the real green area is located near the library. This Green Space is known for being perfect for reading a book, slack lining, or playing Frisbee with your dog.
